Human beings start from the smallest component of life, a cell. We grow, and we develop into unique, intricate, and complicated creatures. The growth and development of our physical bodies is the most understandable representation of our growth and development in a deeply emotional and spiritual way. The analogy of our spiritual journey that I can grasp as an easy-to-explain story is heaven’s race. You don’t win a race just by starting a race; you win a race with minutes, hours, days, and years of hard work to become the most suitable racer that you can become. Then, once you are in the race, you are thinking critically to advance into the next position over and over again. Every day, we are given the little things. What makes these little things little? One day, we will understand that the big things are not what life is about, but it is about the little things, the moments that feel like magic, the moments that prove to you that God exists and his love is real. The collection of seconds that you smile and say thank you to God for everything that he has done. Life is about every single genuine experience that fills your cup and shows you God’s presence. He is a creator. We created every little thing for a reason. He created experiences and moments as a reminder of Him, to show us that he is present in every second of our lives. Surrounding yourself with people and experiences that make you believe in the goodness of God makes you believe in love, joy, compassion, and kindness. You will be given a gift of health, getting to feel the sunshine warm across your face, the gift of knowing that is enough to make life so incredibly worth living, because your lowest of lows will never match the highness of highs through the power of God. He gives battles that he knows you can handle. Life is worth the race and living because you glorify God throughout your day-to-day life and find the people who feel like sunshine. Those are your teammates, the people who will grab your hand and run through the challenging parts of heaven’s race with you. The craziest concept of life is that this is it; the greatest banquet and party are waiting for you in heaven. There is something beyond the business of each day, and every single time you encounter Jesus, you are getting a taste of heaven. The people that you love and want to see in heaven are the most important part of this life. A concept that is hard to grasp is that those who don’t know Jesus and all his glory won’t understand or get to celebrate heaven. That is the depression of today’s world, a lack of unexplainable joy, unimaginable trust, and the divine mercy and love of Jesus Christ and the Lord. The deepest desire of the human heart falls into the need for eternal life and the perfect life that we will discover in heaven with the Lord. The race? The race is to gather yourself and the people that you love on earth, and to get to heaven. Race against the sins and evilness of the world.
